Filed under: Breaking Poker News — admin @ 3:05 pm

Foxwoods Resort Casino opened its brand-new poker room yesterday and sexy Carmen Electra was there to honor it.

The official name of the poker room is the “WPT Poker Room” at Foxwoods. It’s located in a space next to where the old cardroom used to be. The new Fifth Street Café, a 100-seat restaurant, also opened as part of the expansion.

Carmen Electra dealt the first ceremonial poker hand and then the celebs and VIPs played a $25,000 winner-take-all tournament.

A Little Gambling Humor…Las Vegas Style

Filed under: Poker Humor — admin @ 5:08 pm

Three buddies decided to take their wives on vacation for a week in Las Vegas. The week flew by and they all had a great time. After they returned home and the men went back to work, they sat around at break and discussed their vacation.

The first guy says, “I don’t think I’ll ever do that again!  Ever since we got back, my old lady flings her arms around me and hollers 7 come 11 all night and I haven’t had a wink of sleep!”

The second guy says, “I know what you mean… my old lady played blackjack the whole time we were there and now she slaps the bed all night and hollers ‘hit me light or hit me hard’ and I haven’t had a wink of sleep either!”

The third guy says, “You guys think you have it bad! My old lady played the slots the whole time we were there and I wake up each morning with a sore dick and an ass full of quarters.”

Just Made the Billionaire List and Raided by Police

Filed under: Breaking Poker News — admin @ 9:13 am

Billionaire Calvin Ayre, the Canadian CEO of Internet gaming company Bodog.com, recently had some unexpected houseguests arrive at his Costa Rican mansion while filming a reality poker television series. The cameras kept rolling as busloads of policemen descended on the $3.5 million private home.  Reportedly, they had a tip about some illegal poker game taking place on the premises but, alas all they found were film crews filming the “party scene” for after the poker tournament.

If you need proof of the growth of Poker

Filed under: Breaking Poker News — admin @ 1:10 pm

Then just look to Las Vegas and the boom in Poker rooms being open along the strip.

The Venetian will be opening one of Las Vegas’s largest poker rooms this spring, with a floor space of 10,000 square feet, and walls covered with twenty-one large screen plasmas televisions.  Limit games will start as low a $4/$8, and like the Bellagio’s poker room, The Venetian will have a high-stakes area offering butler service and gourmet dining.

Meanwhile, across the street, Treasure Island is expected to open a poker room in early April, and is currently advertising for poker dealers on it’s website.

Grow Poker, Grow!  The more the merrier I say.

Hold’em Rules but What About?….

Filed under: Poker Commentary — admin @ 12:58 pm

I personally love all types of Poker, but nowadays it seems that hold’em rules, especially the TV airwaves.   The huge popularity of Texas Hold’em has certainly been a boom for the Poker industry but I still prefer a good game of 7 card stud.
