With all versions of Poker being so hot we decided to have a look at one of the newest Poket video game releases by Myelin Media.  Named Stacked with Daniel Negreanu, Negreanu a Canadian poker champion, whose total tournament winnings to date exceed $8 million is your guide and tutor.

I got a chance to play this bad boy at the local EB and I have to tell you, the highly touted AI still has some glaring problems especially when it comes to bluffing. Gameplay is interesting and graphics are good but for the serious Poker player the AI does fall short. I rate it 65%, good for beginners but for pros, don’t bother.

Two Internet Gambling Bills Fast Tracked

Filed under: Breaking Poker News — admin @ 10:52 am

The Internet Gambling Prohibition Act and another bill regarding Internet poker and gaming called HR 4411, sponsored by Rep. Jim Leach (R-IA) and known as the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act are have been fast tracked and are headed to floor of the U. S. House of Representatives.

The proposed bills would seek to criminalize the electronic transmission of funds for gaming purposes. The Leach bill in particular would make it illegal for credit card companies to accept transactions at online gaming sites, while the Goodlatte bill goes further and forces U. S. financial institutions to cooperate with federal law enforcement agencies and report customers transactions. It would also look to force Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to cut off access to offshore sites their customers might use for online poker and gaming. Both bills, interestingly enough, make provisions to allow for wagering regarding horse racing, fantasy sports betting and state lotteries.

Both of these are sad news for the flourishing online gambling industy and we can expect a fierce fight in defence.
