Poker Dealers Tips – Fold With Style

Filed under: Poker Basics — admin @ 10:31 am

What type of person watches alot of poker? Poker dealers, of course. They watch so much poker they have seen even the most unlikely winning hands. When players rake in huge pots lots of tips always go to the dealer. Poker dealers often know quite alot about poker and have a few tips and tricks up their sleeve. The other day I got a chance to talk to a poker dealer and he shared with me the following.

Poker Dealers  Tips – Fold With Style.

When you are seriously outgunned and know you are not going to win, then fold. So many players don’t fold when they are meant to and end up losing some serious cash. Why? The biggest reason is that new players on the turn or the river will not fold even though they can’t win. They don’t fold because they have already bet so much, invested so much cash in the pot that they simply can’t throw that away. There are subconscious forces at work where they see that money as their’s and they feel as though as long as they are still in they own it. Folding means the lose money and people are programmed to hate losing things. This means lots of players don’t fold when they should. Seriously, the amount of times I have seen people stay in pots to the end with ordinary cards and completely squashed them for the pot. After winning you think ‘Why was that guy in he didn’t even have much?’. Folding with style is essential if your are going to succeed in poker. This tips finale: always make sure when you fold you don’t chuck a two year old tantrum. Don’t slam your cards, throw them away or do anything else childlike. Just put them face down and slide them in professionally.
