Partypoker lost many users

Filed under: Breaking Poker News — admin @ 4:29 am

I have no absolute numbers but since all the players from the United States had to leave the number of players who play my kind of tournaments dwindled. I used to play $22 shootout tournaments with hundreds of players and about $10000 in cash of total money for the tournament. The last round would award the winner between $600 and $800. Yesterday I played the $22 shootout again only about 150 players joined for a total sum of $3000 something.

The winner of the last round would get about $150 which is only a fourth or even a fifth of what was awarded before the US-Players left Partypoker. But this is not the reason alone why the games see less participants. Party Poker decided to move the $22 shootout from 22:00 to 24:00 CET which is really bad for all European players. If you have to work the other day you can’t be playing Poker up until 4 or 5 in the morning.

WSOP Prize Money Frozen by Court Ruling

Filed under: Breaking Poker News — admin @ 8:19 pm

Lawyers for Jamie Gold and Bruce Crispin Leyser have agreed to an injuction that will freeze half the Word Series of Poker winnings.  Judge Roger Hunt is preparing to sign the order that will freeze $6 million dollars of prize money won by Mr. Gold.

Gold outplayed more than 8,700 players to win the world’s largest poker tournament last month and its 12 million dollar top prize but Leyser claims he and Gold reached an agreement to split Gold’s winnings if Leyser helped him find celebrity players to wear the “Bodog” poker site brand during the tournament.

Sounds like either way there is lots of millions to go around. It might even be time for Jamie to start playing at the blackjack casino.
